Spectacles

On my train home last night, a pretty girl was sat opposite me in a generic hippy kind of outfit. Her oufit was pleasant enough, but she was wearing spectacles that covered half her face! These were not sunglasses, but normal glasses. I've seen a lot more seemingly good looking women uglifying themselves with stupidly large lunettes recently. Do they not have mirrors? Do they even need glasses?
Perhaps it is fashion, but aren't a lot of fashionable things meant to make you look good? As a spectacle wearer myself I like a more subtle style to enable me to see. Perhaps it's because I had horrid big glasses as a kid that I find this fashion offensive. At the end of the day, it just looks bad, plain & simple. Kind of like hareem pants on people above a size 6, but I'll save those for another post.
Weirdly I think big glasses on men don't uglify them. They have larger faces so maybe that's why they don't look so silly!
I do like wearing glasses though, it means I wear Chanel every day and that can only be a good thing.
